There is a strong demand for doctorate-prepared nurses in the healthcare industry and nursing educational institutes in Pakistan. The Institute of Nursing Sciences has the pride to be a leader in nursing education in the country in general and in Sindh in particular. ZUFONAM is distinguished in having highly qualified foreign and locally prepared nursing faculty in the country. The institute is now aspiring to be the third private sector institution in the country to start a Ph.D. program in Nursing.

The Ph.D. program in nursing will facilitate the scholars to acquire leadership roles in nursing health care, initiate and maintain collaborative relationships with nurses and individuals in other disciplines, advance nursing and health care knowledge by critically evaluating existing theories and knowledge, identifying new areas of inquiry for research and develop the science that guides nursing practice and health care by conducting original research using established ethical principles and disseminating research findings to advance new directions in theory, practice, and education.

Mission

To develop graduates capable of establishing a program of research that generates nursing knowledge, formulate policies and advances practice related to the health of individuals, families, and communities at all levels of healthcare.

Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or equivalent, with Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN/Post RN BSN) (18 years of education)
Minimum CGPA 3.00 out of 4.00 scale in a semester system or minimum first division in the annual system in Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) or equivalent from HEC recognized university
Passing University’s entrance test or Valid NTS-GAT/GRE score
Valid IELTS Academic Score 6.5 overall and not less than 6 in any component
Passing University’s interview and research synopsis presentation
Valid PNC license

Introduction

This is a four years degree program, leading to practice as a Registered Nurse. The degree program fosters integrated nursing knowledge, skills and professional attitude. Upon completion of this program the graduate is prepared to be a safe clinical nurse, who will be able to provide comprehensive care at primary, secondary and tertiary levels within hospitals and community settings
Moreover, the BScN students will be registered with Pakistan Nursing Council after completing one year internship as per given PNC internship policy and must pass the PNC Licensure examination.

Admission Policy

Admission Test

Ziauddin University College of Nursing conducts an Admission Test through University Examination Department for all eligible applicants. The test consists of Multiple Choice Questions and short question of various types. The test comprises of four sections designed to assess each applicant’s performance in the areas of:

English
Science
General Knowledge
Mathematics

Interviews

Applicant will be interviewed to assess their suitability to complete concern course and pursue a career in nursing services. Interview will be held at the Ziauddin College of Nursing.

Application Selection

Applicant selection in Ziauddin College of Nursing is strictly based on merit and applicants are considered on the basis of admission test and interview results.

BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN NURSING (4 YEARS)

FSc (Pre-Medical) with a minimum overall score of 50%
