The Associate Degree in Health, Safety, and Environmental Management (AD HSEM) is designed to provide students with foundational knowledge and practical skills to effectively manage health, safety, and environmental issues in various industries. This interdisciplinary programme introduces essential concepts in occupational health, hazard identification, workplace safety, risk management, and environmental sustainability. Graduates gain practical expertise to support organisational compliance with safety regulations, promote sustainable practices, and contribute proactively to creating safer, healthier workplaces and communities.
The programme aims to equip students with fundamental knowledge and practical skills in workplace safety, risk assessment, and environmental protection. The programme fosters an understanding of regulatory compliance, hazard identification, and incident prevention strategies to promote safer and more sustainable work environments. Graduates will be prepared for entry-level roles in various industries or can seamlessly transition into a Bachelor’s degree for advanced studies. Emphasising ethical responsibility and continuous learning, the programme develops graduates capable of adapting to evolving health, safety, and environmental challenges.Â

Graduates of the Associate Degree in Health, Safety, and Environmental Management programme can pursue entry-level careers in diverse industries, including roles such as HSE Assistant, Safety Technician, Environmental Technician, Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) Coordinator, Risk Assessment Assistant, Compliance Officer (Junior Level), Fire Safety Officer (Junior Level), Industrial Hygiene Technician, Construction Safety Officer (Junior Level), and Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Assistant. Equipped with foundational knowledge and practical skills, graduates are ready to support workplace safety, environmental protection, regulatory compliance, and risk management efforts, fostering safer and healthier working environments.Â
Pathway for Associate Degree Holders:
Students who have completed Associate degrees shall be allowed admission in the fifth semester of the undergraduate/equivalent degree programme offered in the same discipline without any deficiency course.
Pathway for Conventional Two-Year BSc/Equivalent Degree Holders:
Students who have completed conventional two-year BSc/equivalent degree programmes shall be allowed admission in the fifth semester of the undergraduate/equivalent degree program, in which case students shall be required to complete deficiency courses.
Exiting from Undergraduate/Equivalent Degree Programme with an Associate Degree:
Students enrolled in the undergraduate/equivalent degree programme shall be allowed to exit from the programme with an Associate Degree, provided that the following requirements are met:
