Ziauddin University’s cross sectional imaging fellowship provides an opportunity for radiology clinical and research training at the fellowship level. The fellowship maximizes your radiology learning experience by giving you ample opportunities for elective experiences in many areas, while maintaining emphasis on all aspects of body imaging. The specific timetable for this progression depends on your prior experience.

During this fellowship, you receive advanced training in all aspects of body imaging in both outpatient and hospital radiology settings.

Application Process

Fellowship in Cross-sectional Imaging is open on the portal. Application fee is Rs. 5,000/-

Clinical Training

You gain significant hands-on experience in ultrasonography, CT and MRI. High patient volumes and one-on-one staff contact makes this an attractive learning experience.

Didactic Training

Clinical conferences, seminars, small discussion groups, journal clubs and one-on-one instruction are all integral parts of the Fellowship. For example:

Attend departmental meetings and conferences
Develop and make presentations at departmental conferences
Attend conferences at research facilities
Attend journal club meetings
Prepare papers for presentation at research conferences

Research Training

Your research opportunities at in the radiology department are vast. You are encouraged to participate in research projects with the consulting staff and resident.

You are assigned an adviser from the department, as determined by the fellowship committee. This assignment is based on your research interest. The adviser may be changed during the fellowship, at the option of the committee.

You will require to complete at least one research paper in PMDC indexed Journals.

Career Development

You meet periodically with various faculty members, administrators and the program directors to discuss your career goals. Dr. Ziauddin hospital recruits many of its staff physicians from its own training programs, so when you successfully complete a radiology fellowship, job opportunities may be available at one of Dr. Ziauddin hospitals group practices.

Call Frequency

Your call schedule varies by individual rotation & as per directive of the program director.

Teaching Opportunities

You have the opportunity to teach residents, medical students and visiting students from other radiology departments through daily clinical work and formal didactic lectures.

You will be required to present at least once in the daily morning class.

Evaluation

To ensure that you acquire adequate knowledge and develop your technical skills, your performance is monitored carefully during the course of the fellowship. You are evaluated formally by your supervising faculty member thrice a year. In addition, you regularly evaluate the faculty to ensure that your educational needs are being met.

The evaluation process includes three assessments; at the time of entry, at completion of six months & at the end of the fellowship.

There may be an exit oral, written evaluation or both on the completion of the training.

60% passing marks are mandatory to be declared as “successful completion of the fellowship” otherwise extended un-paid period for more learning opportunity would be suggested by the program director.
